Paul Revere was a colonial Boston silversmith and patriot whose famous midnight ride provided a needed warning to colonists about an impending British attack which gave the local colonial militia a key advantage during the Battles of Lexington and Concord. These key battles led to the start of the Revolutionary War and the eventual independence of America from Great Britain.
